Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has used the ActionFlex Kali / Escrima "Pro" sticks?
Really wanted to know how much they "hurt"... I have used the ActionFlex Wakisashi before and they do not hurt at all - just reddening of the skin but no real pain.

The Kali Pro sticks are meant to be stiffer ... the reason I ask is because I want to get some friends into it and while I am quite happy to take some knocks, it would not be too welcome for beginners.

So do they hurt when you get whacked?

Hello,

I use them regularly in our classes. They can leave nice welts, bruises or scratches but do little real damage. They are a good method to introduce students to sparring in a "safe" manner. They have several drawbacks as they are flexible and tend to give when they are struck as you parry. But all in all a nice product.
