I'm curious how many BF members are Active Duty Military. So I pose the following questions:

1) What Branch?
2) What Specialty?
3) What knife/knives do you currently have on your gear?
4) What knife/knives would you like on your gear?

I'll start:

1)Navy
2)Medical
3)Short Kabar on my web gear, Sebenza in the pocket.
4)Busse Mean Street or Simonich Talonite Cetan or CR Shadow III on my gear, Sebenza in the pocket (well, I'm halfway there).

1. Navy (16 years).
2. Aviation trained (working out of rate at this time).
3. Small Classic CR Sebenza, Buck "Bucktool".

4. Looking for a Large reg OR Large Woody CR Sebenza

1.USAF (18 years)
2.helo crewchief
3.carried every multi tool out there until was told i couldnt any more
4.A TNT with with a 5.5 inch blade

1. Spc. (E-4) in the Army 5 years.
2.91A Biomedical Electronic Tech.
3. Kershaw Boa, Expecting a Spyderco G10 Harpy in the mail any day now,Gerber Multi tool (issued to us) On my web gear i'll probably put a small fixed blade like a CRKT Companion or Cold steel Tanto (wouldn't it be nice to have a big ole knife from Jerry Hossom straped on.)

1. Army (6 years)
2. Paratrooper
3. Busse Basic #7, CRKT Crawford/Kasper, Emerson Commander, and Leatherman PST. Every so often I switch with my Emerson SOCFK, Spyderco Military, MT LCC D/A and Busse Basic #5.
4. A Strider BT, AR folder, a DB. An Emerson CQC-6. Been wanting to try the Leatherman wave.

rotor, you are a helo crewchief with 18 years in, and they told you you can't carry a multi-tool???

yea a few people lose or misplace theirs and now they say they cant be effectively accounted for and the multi tools become a FOD hazard

I'm not active anymore. I retired after 20 years in the Coast Guard--but we also served. Carried many, many different knives during that time but always had a multitool with me (Leatherman).

Nice thread.

Good to see the Coast Guard chime in. I did a 30 day deployment this summer in the Bahamas and provided and received support from the Coasties. What a great group of guys to work with. They went out of their way to take care of the needs (read beer) of a bunch of thirsty Marines and SeaBees. As far as knives, the helo pilots all had Spyderco Rescues, and a lot of the Coast Guard crew had AFCKs.

Now where are the Marines?

Lets see...

Five years Army Intelligence Analysis and Intercept.
Last seven years Coast Guard my job specialty has gone from
Radioman (RM) to Telecommunications Specialist (TC)and I will end my career as an Information Technologist (IT). Except for three years on a Cutter (Ship) I have alway been computer network weenie.

Knives usually and Endura or Leatherman of some kind now a Wave.

I would like to have a Chinook or a BM 710. Or any quality knife I don't have right now.

1. USAF (14yrs)/Montana Air Guard (5+yrs) with 19+ years total
2. Cop/EST (SWAT), Personnel, HVAC, Heavy Equipment.
3. My own EBK II, and a Progression II folder, and always a multi tool of some type.
4. A Kit Carson folder (who cares which one!?)
