Hey guys, so awhile back I did a YT initial impressions video on a new Kerambit that I am excited about, the Active Response Kerambit (ark) made by Dirk Pinkerton, and sold through comprehensive fighting systems in Tucson Az.
What initially excited me about these little knives was the steel, and the price, I wont lie. A custom Kerambit made of 154cm for $80? I was basically immediately sold. But what is really cool about the Kerambit is the torsion bar system that keeps the blade locked into you hand. It really is a cool little piece of gear!

Anyways, fastforward a little bit to Shot Show 2017, and I ran into Chad McBroom, one of the dudes behind the Ark. I was able to take that opportunity to steel him for a second and snatch a quick video about the knife and its design!

Man, shot show is so epic! Anyways, I got to see a lot of knife booths and great knife people while there, which I didn't expect. I am still edcing this little kerambit, but I know that they are working on redesigning the sheaths a little bit, which I think will be nice for concealment and deployment options.

What do you guys think, anybody else have one?

Beachmaster,

I am very glad to hear you like the A.R.K.! THANK YOU!

Got the ARK and trainer today and my first impression is stellar!

THIS KNIFE NEEDS TO BE BUILT!

I feel it is a MUCH better design (and this after only having them it hand for a couple hours. Being unable to secure a manufacturer to mass produce them (So far) Believe me is the knife community’s loss, a BIG loss.

1. Having no sharp edges other than the blade makes it very comfortable to hold in the hand, even when squeezing as tightly as I can.
2. The ring is just the right size to accommodate a variety of finger sizes.
3. The finger “nub” is perfect to keep the knife securely in the hand, even when your hand is open and allows you to accomplish a myriad of functions while still keeping it in your hand. You still have complete usage of your hand functions and can even write while retaining the knife in your hand.
4. Being a “three finger” knife, you can still grip and fire your weapon and even change magazines without fear of cutting yourself (if held in the non-dominate hand).
5. You can still “grapple” with an individual because your design allows for the complete usage of your hand without having to worry about having to hold on to your knife.

I could go on and on but suffice it to say the ARK design should be carried by everyone that carries/uses a knife for self defense or weapon retention. I don’t understand why knife manufacturers are not beating down the doors trying to secure the rights to mass produce this exceptional blade. The world has suffered a great loss by not being able to buy this knife on the open market.
