I live in Denver and would like to go to an actual store to fondle a Mora.. Can anyone point me to a store that carries them???

I've never seen Mora knives in a real store, in Denver or elsewhere. :(

Just my 2c, but I think you'll find the best prices, best selection, and best service at an online dealer. Ragweed Forge, for instance.

Considering the price of gas, sales tax, and "brick and mortar" inflated prices it's probably cheaper to buy three Mora knives online and throw away the two you like the least.

bens backwoods has a good selection and pricing on frosts and eriksson moras. also a good amount of carbon steel opinels.
sorry, no b&m store info

There used to be two different companies that made Mora knives, Erikkson and Frosts. Those two companies have merged and the new company is called MOS, or Mora of Sweden.

As to which model is 'best' check out the Wilderness and Survival sub-forum. Those guys love to talk about Mora knives and you'll find some fantastic reviews and opinions written down there.

My own preference is towards the traditional models that offer full-length tangs and wooden handles.

Happy shopping!

I live in Westminster, and have several moras as well as over a hundred other knives. If you want to check them out, email me and I would be happy to set up a meet.

bigbcustom, I think ill take you up on that.. We are heading out on another vacation next week, but will be back the week after and Ill ride on over.. Ill check out the W&S forum as well.. I was looking at ragweeds website and there are like 50 different kinds, i guess Ill have to to really sit down and start comparing metals and whatnot... Ive never owned a wood handled working/util knife, but I like the plastic in the ones I have..

If shopping for the plastic models, here's something that should interest you. The plastic handled Moras have partial tangs only, but some are more partial than others. Someone years ago took an x-ray showing the hidden tangs beneath the molded plastic handles of several Mora knives for comparison.
