Hi guys, i saw many pics of 551bk, some show blade coating is not actually very dark, but some show it really deep black, but the handle is kind of some blue when captured right next to that nice dark black. Also, the blade: disappointed with some dlc coatings, got titansepp knife, this blade coating is really nice, not dlc maybe. BM non conformist has awesome black blade too. Just as the handle. Some protech sng's pics show handles anodized with some tint, while the screws, clip and blade are excellent, too... looks like handle isnt anodized to that beautiful deep black as benchmade's. I actually remember my 943, it was awful. I know people like old presidio with that violet tint. I wish i could have griptilian with same flat al black handle as the nonconformist, it is way deeper than g10, i just cant say enough how i like it, its just perfect. I wish other materials could reflect light such way.
So, what are the actual colors of bk grip?

What? First off, are you talking about? Asking about the "handles" as you say in the title of the thread, or the blade like the rest of your post? You mention owning other BM knives, but the BK coating used by benchmade isn't DLC, wears off quickly and is applied the same to all the blades. It is a very dark, matte black finish on all the benchmades I've owned with a coated blade. Honestly your post doesn't seem to be very logical or well thought out. You do know the BM 551BK doesn't have G10 handles right? Unless you're buying a custom from benchmade or aftermarket scales.

I’m going to be honest with you I cannot understand your post either. I read it a few times. The handles are whatever color they say in the discription but I can see how it may vary from online pictures. My suggestion would be to go to your local Cabelas/ Academy, or other sporting goods store. Take a look at them, and see them first hand. Also just a cool fyi if you have an academy near you they will price match and beat by 5% if the add you show them has a brick and mortar store! Hope this helps man!

I take it that your first language is not English? The 551 does come with G10 and 20CV blade steel with black coating. The scales are grey with blue lining. They are not dark, but medium grey. The knife also comes with FRN scales and 154CM steel. The black coating is not DLC and it comes off with light use.

If you want black DLC loot at Spyderco or Cold Steel.

Here is a Spyderco Manix 2 in Dark Grey G10, and black DLC coated 52100 steel from Knifeworks.com.

+1 for spyderco's coatings... That stuff is TOUGH.

The American made Spydercos (Golden, CO) have Diamond Like Coating (DLC) on the black blades.

Love my mini Grip olive green body with black blade [inky black....not midnight black...or TransAm black to clarify- grin]

Scales are hard plastic on mine.

I like the lock of my benchmades over the Manix 2 Spyderco I own....but I don't like the beefy high tension clip on the Grip....I'm going to have to grind it down a little I think.
