Found some interesting comparisons in weight, thought you guys might have some interest

This one is very interesting. My custom ASHBM only weights 1 oz more than the 1 inch shorter DTBM. The DTBM is also much thinner(0.25" vs 0.33") but high sabre ground. I figured the DTBM would still be a lot lighter

Don't forget that the ASHBMs have lightening holes under the scales. Those should account for the relatively minor difference in weight between the DTBM and the ASHBM.

True, but mine has a 3/4 length swedge on top so that may account for a lot of it as well.

Cobalt, maybe the weight differences among the Basics are due to difference in stock thickness or maybe how far the tang extends into the resiprene handle?

That's right...after all the choil is about a quarter sized pice of steel if one were to keep the "cutout" scrap when it was ground in. That could def. account for the difference.

Somebody say weights? :D this is twice a week. 5 sets of 5 reps. If I get 5 on the last set I add 5# to the lift the next workout.

Back to awesome blades. It is peculiar that the dtbm weighs in so closely to the ASHBM. Maybe sr101 is more dense. No dimples afterall

Thanks for this info. This thread or one with an expandable list of models, with weights, would be invaluable. Like the shipping info thread. Weight is so helpful to know, and is asked about often. I don't understand why that is not listed on the site at sale time.
