Actually USING custom ABS forged hunters. I thought I would post a few shots of the blades I brought hunting this year. A Jon Christensen, mosaic damascus (one of his mastersmith test knives) and a simple carbon hunter from Dan Winkler, anyway here are the blades in actual use. Not to sound like a jerk but others in camp were humbled with their "Bass Pro" production steel.

Great shots of a great knife in action. A work of art but a very refined tool. I'm sure Jon would be proud that it's being put to good use.

Great photo album, love those big brown trout.:)

Nice pics of quality knives put to their intended use. I hope those other guys in camp are giving some serious thought to upgrading their gear.

Just fantastic some fantastic shots. Looking at pics on my phone can't wait to see them bigger. Just awesome

COOL Blake! Those are some nice racks!

Did the custom knives cut noticeably better than the production knives?

While some may decry using an MS test knife in such a fashion as some form of sacrilege, I saw more power to ya!!! I personally witnessed a redneck guide down by Lake Okeechobee cut himself three time using some cheap Wally World folder while skinning a feral hog that I had bagged and thrice he declined the use of a proper P.J. Tomes knife that I offered to lend him. You can't fix stupid.:D The next time I went, my brother and I took our two hogs home intact and skinned and quartered them with one of my hunters and camp knives in short order with no injury to either of us.

Its every makers dream to know his knife will handle these trophy hunting chores. I bet you made Jon's day with these photos.
Congrats on a nice pair of Bulls

Looking good Blake congrats on your hunt. I know Jon will be proud. Good to see you on the forum as well

ALRIGHT BLAKE! You the man.

It's nice to see you're putting it to good use. I've had a number of collectors say they are going to use them only to tell me that they changed their mind at the last minute. They didn't want to see them get dirty.
I try to tell all of them that Damascus actually shows the patina and scratches less than straight carbon.

Congrats on the hunt, looks like a productive one.
Thanks for posting this.

Jon

Uhm... I don't get the "graphic" warning... that actually looks yummy... what was it? Deer?
I know this guy that stews it in a way that can rise dead... :p

Great working knife, BTW. Very good handle, and proportionate blade (that is, comparatively SMALL).
I like it a lot!

Hey Jon, yeah I thought you would dig that, I was going to bring a one of Dave's but I thought the voodoo mask damascus might jump to life with the taste of blood ! Not to mention one of Tom's evil spirits !!!!
