Mine definitely had a break-in period; I'm still at the tail end of it.
The tang and Scorpion bar need to get to know each other a bit. That's a lot of surface area to break in. Ditto with the lock notch.
One thing that helped with mine was using a strip of index card to keep those areas clean. Periodically I tore a little strip of card, maybe 3mm wide and about 2in long, lifted the bar, slipped it under, grabbed both ends to keep it in place, and then cycled the action a couple times. It kind of polishes those areas clean.
I also find mine easier to open by snapping the Scorpion Lock bar rather than flicking it open with the thumb stud -- almost like snapping the Axis bar on a Benchmade.
