Just got back from a vaction on Prince Edward Island, Canada. Took the AD along as a EDC. Everyone who saw it fell in love with it immediately and commented on how sturdy yet "right sized" it was. It saw lots of salt water exposure and the only care it got was rinsing under tap water. It still hasn't shown even the slightest hint of rust. It's great for shucking Malpeque oysters. BTW it's a stripped blade.

Pretty sure it was a sage w/ black canvas micarta...
the Sage Milganzaaaa AD.
.195" thick saber ground AD goodness!

.

1)you recon a sage/black miliganza will turn out like this one?
2)can the finish strip be done by anyone?
3)where would I get tubes to reattach the handles
4)how would I put in the tubes?
5)who does this kind of work? and what would it cost?

Grab some paint stripper like "circa 1850" smear it on with a paint brush. Wait a bit, wipe it off. Use a steel brush to remove any left over in the Infi dimples and you're done. Don't even think about removing the handle slabs unless you intend to mirror polish the blade. Looks good stripped huh? Still see the Busse logo.

its very very nice, i only hope i can get something close to it. isnt there finish under the grips? if the paint stripper touches the handles wouldnt it cause trouble with the handle?

It should look pretty much like the same thing.
The black/black & and the sage/black were made from the same blanks I believe.
The INFI dimples may be in different spots :p ... but other than that, same / same.

Paint stripper does not hurt micarta:

New... (Skunk's pic... but one just like it)

Yea, I'm sure any quality paint stripper will do. Be sure to post pics when you're finished.
You should see the nice pattern I found on the spine of that AD, didn't take pics yet. Maybe later.

well mines soaking, i brushed on and waited for time and it didnt work, so soaking for the time which makes it double the time. wish me luck this time around, will post pics here soon

ok, cant see the busse combat on mine at all. and it seams some color (read not finish) stuck to the ground section of the blade. maybe i'll do a light coat on the section that retained the color. any ideas why mine dosent have the busse combat anymore? i didnt scrub that portion only rubbed off. come to think of it, i was so stoked i didnt inspect that closely, though i assume it was there.
