Hey everyone, I purchased my first Busse from a forumite, an AD (snakeskin/satin) it's gonna be a user so I have some sheath questions...I wanna go with kydex, is this knife a practical size for a neck sheath? inside the waist/pocket sheath? I wanna conceal EDC it as to not scare my fellow employees, or attractive women standing behind me at a checkout line at Wal Mart...ideas? I gotta say that snakeskin micarta is way too cool looking to hide though...too bad knives are so scary LOL...

Thanks

i had the same question concerning neck carry, but i figured that's what the ass shaker is for  and you're right the snakeskin is a great look

currently i edc my ad in a pocket sheath sold by another maker
whose name rhymes with "blackjack"
saw em at BLADE and maybe pissed ken (mr warner)off a little bit by checkin the fit of my ad in it.
i wet molded it and it works slicker'n whale poo in an ice flow.
i think 1 or 2 other hogs had the same idea.
mr force 1, you use yours?
they're pretty cheap,, maybe $20. they are on the website.

i also have one of leatherman's bad ass sheaths for the ad on order.
horizontal.
neither is quite legally concealed(arguable at least)but not in plain view.

Haven't wet-formed it yet. Have carried it the one time I've been out in the woods since Blade. Stinkin broken wrist kept me down.

But, fun times a-comin!!!!

Love the AD, esp since I have scored one that was beadblasted, as well as an AD variant, with the spine treatment...LOL

I haven't wet-formed mine either. But I do carry it in my back pocket when out walking in the woods/park.
Since the city doesn't keep the brush trimmed back from the path, my AD (and B9 for the heavy stuff) gets an occasional workout.

RWK,

I think if you want the most concealed EDC, IMHO, would be to have a minimalistic kydex wrap done on it, with a lanyard you can tie to your belt loop, and slip the knife/sheath into your front pocket. Pull the handle from your pocket, the lanyard stops, pulling the sheath off, and you have your "tool" (since it is illegal to carry concealed weapons...) ready for the task.

Might also try an underarm setup that allows the knife to hang upside down.

Thanks for the great ideas, I like the minimal kydex rig idea. Maybe tie my lanyard to a small carbiner (I love to collect them) and clip to belt. I think the blade length on the AD is legal to conceal in Wa state.

Well RWK, that depends on where you are in Washington. From what I understand, there's no state law restricting fixed blade carry (aside from daggers, dirks, etc.), but different municipalities have different laws. In Seattle, fixed blade carry is illegal, as is carrying a folder with a blade longer than 3.5". If you do a google search for "Revised code Washington," you can search the RCW for specifics. To find county and city laws, check out the Municipal Research and Services Center of Washington website at http://www.mrsc.org/

Hope this helps,

Jeremy

Thanks Oku, I'm in Spokane and I had an excellent kydex sheath done for another knife by a well known custom knifemaker who lives a few blocks away from me.

HI,
I have to agree the AD is a great size for daily carry.Brian (Oku) made me a fantastic kydex sheath-came with Tec-Loc and I got the other loop with it.Been on my belt for over a month now.
The Skelton Keys are also nice but smaller.I have one with a David Brown sheath on a static cord.
I have carried several knives with a static cord (thats what JSP Bladerigger calls the lanyard attached to sheath). This is a very quick and easy way to carry a knife.I may give Brian's sheath a try this way.The carbineer's are a good thought for this use.I use one to hold my CT on the seat adjust bar in the truck, keeps the knife under the seat in the same place.
Well have fun with your AD , it is a great knife for carry.
Take care,
Pete
