Hey guys. Im trying to decide between an Active Duty or a Boss Street. I am leaning toward the BS because of it still being available on the site, but was wondering what your opinions of both of them are for EDC. Is the AD too small for edc, or is the BS too large to conceal? etc... Also, if anyone has a pic of them side by side would be great. i know its been talked about before, but how about some new opinions. thanks a lot guys!

My BS carries very well.

It sits pretty high in a Mashed Cat sheath w/ Tek-Lok, so any shirt I wear untucked covers it completely.

Currently it's my favorite EDC  I recently picked up a SAR-3 though, so I'll be trying that out for a while

I do love the AD. It is a bit shorter in both handle and blade length. The Boss is much more hand filling to me. I don't think the AD is too small for EDC at all, I carry a GW which is even smaller.

The Boss will be a bit more capable at some things with that extra blade length. I really think that the extra handle will help at some things too, for more leverage.

Don't think you will be disappointed with either, though.

I would think a lot depends on whether you intend to keep it in your pocket, or sheathed to your belt. One of the things that drew me to the SAR 3 was that it's short enough that I can just keep it in my pocket, which is nice when I'm wearing a big pro-wrestling championship belt or something.

I had a BS. It was a really nice EDC but I personally prefer the way the fallkniven F1 handles so I sold it and am probably going to have a custom F1 made with the money. I've never had the pleasure of using an AD but it looks like a great user also... not my style though. What it boils down to is the task at hand and personal preference.
GL deciding,
Gabriel.

I have both. I really like the blade profile of the AD for EDC/utility, but also like the bigger BS because it makes a great backup to my 1911 for defense.

Right now I'm carrying the BS.

Great thanks for the info. How about carrying the BS? Is it too big to conceal under a shirt? I will be wearing one or the other in IWB style like I always do.

For me, I already have an untucked shirt to conceal my gun, and I carry the knife in a high-ride leather sheath OWB, and no one really sees it. Plus, I'm not concerned if someone does see the bottom of my sheath here in Oklahoma. It's not a big deal.

As much as I like the Boss, I prefer the shorter models for EDC!!! Assault Shaker, GW, AD and SAR3 (I don't have but it's so close to the GW it has to be good)!!! I pack the AS or GW everyday. Not overly large, conceals great and legal in most places. A Boss can get you in trouble in a lot of locations even the simple act of county to county, or township to township. With the little guys I remove most of the guess work, Just my .02>>>>

What kind of sheath did you get with your SAR 3. I'm deciding b/w the leather sheath or the Tek-lok. The leather appears to fit easily into a pocket while the Tek-lok seems to lock your blade in for a more secure carry.

Yea, thats a good point. For the most part, im okay to carry as long as people can't really see it. The AD is perfect size, but im afraid that the extra bit of blade on the BS might be helpful for defensive purposes.(even though i won't be getting in any knife fights anytime soon!) thanks, keep the opinions coming!

I ordered the kydex w/ Tek-Lok

So far I've gotten MC kydex sheaths for all of my Bussekin knives and I'm very happy. I like where they sit on my side with the Tek-Lok.

One more vote for both!! :D

Seriously, for me, the AD takes it. It's not too small at all. I love the BS, and it goes many places with me, but for actually carrying it all the time, the AD's size is a little better.

Here's a few pics.

hey, thanks for the pics. this is a hard one. I will be buying both, but not for a while. I need to decide on one of these. Does anyone feel that the BS is better for defense, but the AD isn't big enough? just curious as to every aspect...again, not that im going to be knife fighting like the Jets vs. Sharks or something. thanks again

That's a danged good thing, because trust me, if you were dancing around and singing and then tried to whip out a piece of Infi after all that namby pamby stuff, your man card, not to mention your budding Pigglet status would instantly be revoked..............

I am pretty sure a Hog would jump out from a near by dumpster, and hoof slap you up the back side of your head, then snatch your knife (while replacing it with a Ginsu) and run off.

Just saying.

If really using it for SD, a slightly longer blade = more penetration, but I think the difference between the blade lengths would mean only a slight difference in SD performance, but would probably give the slight edge to the Boss street. They say that the magic number when it comes to reaching vital bits is in the 4 inch range. Also, the talon hole to handle transition on the Boss makes for a more pronounced guard to protect your little piggies in a stabbing motion. Another thing is that the extra handle, and more exposed tang on the Boss = better skull cracking if you decided a stab or slash was not quite warranted (IE the door to door guy won't leave when told you are not interested, but you don't really think a self defense claim will work against that Old Bible Thumper.........you could always just crack his head with the tang)...................

(Did I mention that the Woman with the Old Bible Thumper was super super hot??????? In her 20's with an outstanding outfit and really high heels and great smelling perfume?????......................Needless to say I did not fall for that old trick!)
