I'm an old knife nut who emphasizes real-world usability/practicality for edc, hunting, and backpacking in my knife interests.

In the edc category, I recently picked up a black Grivory clip point D2 AD20.5 and I am impressed! I like it so much I'll certainly be buying a Shark Foot version as well. I'll also add Demko to the ranks of Benchmade, Emerson, Spyderco, and other manufacturers who I recommend to knife newbies as well as fellow knife nuts.

...wish I had tried one earlier.

'nuff said,
Bob

been wanting to try out some skiff bearings
ordered a set for my 3V Tanto model
I really like the blade profile on the tanto model

I may have to start looking at a knife or two to sell so I can look for an AD20 to add to my knife drawer...

I received my 20CV textured titanium scale AD20.5 today and I love it. I also ordered some aluminum scales for one of my Grivory AD20.5s.

As a side note, the blade didn't quite drop freely out of the box. As usual, I worked the new knife for an hour or so while watching the TV. Then I backed off the pivot screw a tiny bit and the blade still wouldn't drop free. No big deal. So, I disassembled it, totally cleaned it, and reassembled it with light dabs of Tetra synthetic gun grease on the pivot bearings, all the Shark Lock surfaces, etc. and worked it for a while. I've done this to my other two AD20.5s as well and noticed the same thing: now, the Shark Lock would occasionally stick with the blade open and required quite a bit of force to release. I don't think the lock parts like to be lubed.

I took it apart again and carefully cleaned out all the lube with some rubbing alcohol and then reassembled the knife with just a tiny bit of ceramic lube (liquid; Finish Line brand bicycle chain lube) on the pivot bearings and the outside pivoting edge of the knife blade and left everything else clean. Now, it's perfect and smooth as silk. :)

I showed it to a buddy a the range today and he loved the Shark Lock. I'm betting he'll be picking up an AD20.5 soon.
