Well that's a poor choice for a brand name lol.I am assuming you are referring to Alex Collins of KKK knives. He is deceased.
No, actually not….Alex Collins was a black man and quite a character.Well that's a poor choice for a brand name lol.
I mean Adam Collins..
Adam Collins knives on Arizona Customs..
Unfortunately I’m afraid it happens all the time to many that attempt ‘full-time Knifemaker’….a rough go especially these days, probably more so than in the past….and that was tough.
I came into possession of one of his knives a few years ago and spent some time trying to track him down. I think he disappeared in 2019?For the sake of future Google searches-
I've made a little headway. I've come to learn that Mr Collins operated out of Columbus Ohio, and along with a Tim Shindle, used the moniker "Dark Earth Tactical".
Using that info, I've been able to find more about the knife that sparked this line of questioning.
I'm still going to keep digging- I'd like to learn more about them and possibly why they ceased operations.
Craig at Empire Outfitters sold a lot of their knives back around 2015-2016. He had a lot of good things to say about them (Adam, Tim, and the knives). Apparently there was some bad blood with an ex wife that wanted a piece of the biz, so they just nixed the whole thing.I came into possession of one of his knives a few years ago and spent some time trying to track him down.
