This integral Hunter from Adam immediately caught my eye as being pretty rare in that he doesn’t often create stag handles knives. In fact, I don’t know that I ever remember seeing one. Adam and Haley were visiting Dave Lisch just prior to Blade Show and is where Adam created this Hunter for the show. It’s almost a shame it’s not going to be used for hunting/skinning as it’s so well suited for the tasks.

Adam’s created the Damascus for the blade and file-worked buttcap, with beautiful Sambar Stag handle and a bronze spacer and pins.
OAL 8 ¾”
BL 4 ½”

As always, thank you in advance for your interest and opinions.

Beautiful and a great snag i'd say. Is the blade two bars? I honestly can't tell if the swirls are connected or not from the photo. Could be the temper line?

Great piece Kevin. That's a nice looking piece of stag.

Send it this way and I'll put it through the paces this season ;)

Great hunter, Kevin! It has a lot of special character going for it. Love the damascus.

Congrats!

Smoothest of smooth, and rough where needed. I understand why you snagged THIS one. Thanks Kevin!

Yeah looks like a multibar - a very nice pattern indeed! And that buttcap actually looks D-Lischous too, as if maybe a little something rubbed off on Adam while he was there.

I got to see this knife at the CKCA banquet and had I the funds, I would have bought this myself....and I'm not really much of a collector!

This is expertly crafted and beautiful in it's simplicity (that is, simplicity at first glance...it's not as simple as Adam made it look ;) ). And I would use it for sure. Holding it in hand, it begs to be used. Outstanding hunter for sure.

Excellent score, Kevin.

Thank you all for the kind complements!
Thanks Kevin for collecting this piece and for getting Coop to work his magic on it!
The blade and bolster are 4 bar twisted "W" the two inside bars are of higher compression than the outer two, but I thought they blended well. There is most definitely the D'Lisch influence on this one. It was a pleasure to get to work with Dave for a few weeks before Blade this year, and nobody does stag and Damascus like him. I was glad to take advantage of his guidance (and stag stash)😃 Kevin, you're correct. While I've done a couple knives with stag scales, this was the first stag taper I've ever done.

Wonderful acquisition and great to see Adam back in production. In addition to all the comments above, I'm impressed by the care taken in pulling together the 4 bars so nicely at the point. All very elegant.
