I have ordered a big knife from Adam DesRoziers. It is based on the one pictured below:

Mine will have a 12" pattern weld damascus blade (the one in the photo has a 10" blade), mammoth ivory handle and pattern weld damascus guard and fittings. Adam is going to be taking some photos as the knife is being made and I will post them here for all to see.

Good stuff Keith - I'm looking forward to seeing those pics. Adam had some VERY tempting big knives at Blade, I am sure you will be happy with yours.

It was very smart of Adam to start taking part in ABS cutting competitions. If it weren't for seeing his name in Blade magazine and in Don Fogg's ABS newsletter I would never have known who he was. Just goes to show you that knifemakers need to get as much exposure as possible.

By the way, Adam has very recently moved from Alaska to Arizona. He should notice a bit of difference in the weather.

Keith,
Good choice. I don't know how he got so good so fast! His skill making knives, as well as his history using them shows in his work. Really impressive.

The knives from Adam that I saw at Blade put a real big grin on my face - the damascus piece he had there was tremendous - you will not regret it. Adam really gave everyone a run for their money in the cutting comp aswell.

Good early snag Keith!

Adam contacted me to tell me that he just finished forging my blade and that it is going to be a monster. The length will be about 12" and the width between 2 1/4" and 2 1/2". I asked him to take some photos and email them to me. He hasn't gotten back to me on that one yet, but hopefully he is able to take the photos I requested.

Keith,

I know that Adam recently moved from Alaska to Arizona. Do you have his new contact info? Please let me know, if you do.

Thanks,

Peter

Alaska to ARIZONA! Not exactly a "happy medium" kinda guy I guess. :p Keith, I can't wait to see what this knife looks like in a broad 12" blade.

Roger

Here is a photo of the blade compared to one of Adam's regular cutting competition blades. When it was finished the blade ended up being just over 11 inches instead of 12, but I can live with that.
