Adam Michaels 7 year old Birthday Knife

I have been making my son Adam a knife for his birthday since he was 2 years old. The first knife i made was for his second birthday. I give him my first of anything that i try to make, for his birthday, first knife, first folder, first knife with pearl and carbon fiber, ect.

This is the knife for his 7th birthday. It is my first attempt at Damascus, and my first attempt at heat coloring the blade and guard. I also made the nut for the pommel.

I had to lighten up the handle in photoshop but the blade colors are pretty accurate in the last photo.

Michael that's a beautiful knife! He's going to have quite a collection by the time he's my age. Lucky guy. I think you did a nice job heat coloring the blade too! That must be rather tricky...

I think i might be getting the hang of this knife making thing.

You should see my first knifes, crappy finish, loose, sloppy fit-up, hot spots all over the place. The sheaths were garbage! I would display them on a chunk of 2x4 with a slit cut in it..........
OH! -Never mind, I was thinking of YOUR knives at last years Badger Knife Show
