Adamas, how are they doing?

I've read a few threads on these knives and they are (i think) all positive and I like this design alot so i'm really getting ready to pull the trigger.

I have heard the omega springs are beefed up, are there other BMs that have the beefed springs or is it just the Adamas?

I could go without a blade coating and an Orange G-10 handle would be freakin NNNICE, but oh well. So has anyone been beating on one yet? I'm sure they are stout blades but wondered if anyone could fill me in a bit or just give your impressions so far.

I got the black handled one, and really like it, its very thick (both handle and blade) but also very comfortable, super solid (though I haven't battoned with it or anything), so far I really like it.

They are very solid folders, easily on par with anything ZT makes. I believe it is the only one that has the stronger omega springs (and I think they beefed up the lockbar too)

I'm glad you asked. I have been carrying my 275BK for the past 1 1/2 months, a record for me, and I love it! It is sooooo smooth to open and the barest thumb push will let it fully open with the barest of a "click", and I have tightened the pivot on it. Lockup is solid in both directions, and even with the pivot screw completely removed, it is still tight and centered. I've had no problems, complaints, nor buyer's remorse about these. I bought two of the tan/combo, two of the black/L.E., and gave my son one of each, and currently have two of the tan/plain edge coming in soon. This is how much I like the Adamas.:)

Meant to add that I think BM beefed up the Axis Lock bar, by 30% according to the literature, but I don't think the Omega springs were beefed up. I could be wrong, but this is how I've read it.

It's a beast, no folder can touch it. So called "hard use folders" like the 0200 doesn't even come close, especially
in the blade tip strength area. Lock strength is way above a frame lock. Only a Tri Ad can touch it...

Mine is still in my rotation and I like it so far ;)

Hi Reeek. I know this is a thread about the Adamas, but I have to say that I love the Blade-Tech Lightfoot you show in the 4th/5th pictures! I regret letting mine go and not picking up another when they became discontinued. If you ever want to part with it, just shoot me an email, and I'll be your huckleberry.........whatever that means.

i got mine in the beginning of January and she is holding up great! the clip is a little beat up, but over all i am very happy with what i paid.

My Adamas is treating me well and has really surprised me on its flexibility of usage. It does everything well.

thanks for the info. Yeh i had a Presidio 520 but returned it for a refund. It felt too precise and slightly weak, like maybe it was a light-duty (although well made) knife. Loved the ergos.

Now this Adamas, this is a knoife. I know it's going to kick whatever i'm EDC'ing out of my pocket when i finally get the money for it.
I'll probably re-scale it and strip the blade after a while.

Cutter u lucky so and so... can i be another of your sons? And Reeek - WTF?? it must really NOT suck to be you!
Enjoy those blades and keepem sharp!

The BM literature shows that the handle thickness is 0.730", almost 3/4".

My 755 MPR thickness is 0.610" and I think it's rather blocky.
When I measure my Spydie PM2 @ 0.450" thick and my BM 690 (rosewood scales) @ 0.540" and the famous BM 710's have .480" thick handles, then I have concerns about carry-comfort with knives that are 50% thicker.
All that being said, I think that ZT has some pretty thick knives also...and everyone seems to love them. No doubt they are tough.
Just sayin'
Sonny

Don't own one but I've handled them. I like everything about it except the size, if they made a 280 Mini Adamas (preferably about ZT0350 sized) I'd buy one so fast it'd make your head spin :D

Smatchet!

Leadfoot

Haha. He said smatchet!

My son is a volunteer fireman and an EMT and I want him equipped with the best. The area we live in is a foothills area, and in the northern part of the county, where he lives, there is a lot of rugged terrain. I also got him a Dozier KS7 Wilderness fixed blade because I wanted him to have the best. If you can't tell, I do love my boy!!:)

Btw, one is enough!

I've beaten the living snot out of mine and it is still solid as a rock! I don't know what I could do to make this thing gain blade play, but I've tried. I say go ahead and buy one, you will not be disappointed.

I bought one, carried it for a week and sold it to a friend. It was a solid knife but a little too big (width) and heavy for an edc for me. It was a definitely a solid strong knife and my friend is very happy with it.

D2 is the only "Good" steel that I've had bad experience with. I had a Benchmade 960 with D2 and wasn't impressed, it seemed to dull quickly and nick easily. I'm still tempted by a 275 but so far I've resisted, it helps that I can't find a plain edge in stock anywhere.
