Is it a crazy idea to make it a rule that once your item has sold, you should put "SOLD" in the TITLE so it's the first thing someone reads, rather than reading the whole add and all the legal mumbo jumbo that people sometimes put, and start to salivate over pics, only to then scroll down for five minutes and finally see SOLD at the bottom of the page?

ETA: Maybe not a rule, but a button in the Exchange that allows users to quickly and easily add the word "SOLD" to a thread title with a single click?

Sorry David but this will be one of those little aggravations in life that you will just need to bear :( I completely agree that reading through a sales thread (even just opening it to start to read) and finding out that the item was sold is an AGGRAVATION.

Common courtesy - thread etiquette - should be to mark your thread SOLD in the title upon completion of a sale BUT who will enforce such a rule? After the fact, can you imagine the moderators chasing after those scofflaws?  Ain't gonna happen.

I wish courtesy were common!

Is it possible to configure the software to add a "sold" button to click that would add SOLD to the topic title and also close thread? If it could be done with one click, I think compliance would be high.

Spark Spark this man is a genius. I have changed my thread title and added an addendum to my OP accordingly.

Hmmm, I just realized we still have the issue of multiple items being sold in a single thread..... I think in the end, it is wishful thinking that everyone would do it how I do, which is mark each item sold (or withdrawn) in the first place where that item is mentioned in the body of the thread, and THEN mark the whole thread as sold or (withdrawn) once nothing is left in that thread.

Perhaps it's just one of those things we will have to continually deal with. 🤷‍♂️

There's already a "SOLD" thread prefix?

Not seeing one.

Your list is obviously different than that of most members; but you are correct...there is no such prefix. Truth be told, I'm not sure there has been one in my time here - I remember specifically looking for one years ago.
