I went down to Cape Town to visit my folks for a few days. While I was there I went to a firearm dealer (A.R.Rosenthals) where I bought my first Endura back in 1992.

First thing that caught my eye was a Spydercard. I'd been looking for one of those for more than 2 years. Then i saw the ParaMil, which is what I really wanted (we got our annual bonuses a few weeks ago). Decisions, decisions.... i knew if i left the Spydercard behind I would regret it, so i took them both :foot: I'll have to take it easy for the next few months, but at least they were nice enough to give me a 10% discount and I know I bought 2 really cool knives.

The ParaMil has really impressed me. It's just the whole package: CPM-S30V steel, G10 slabs, the lock (much nicer than the liner on the Military), the edge... i think I'm in love. Only minor gripe is that I would have put the clip closer to the end of the handle.

When I finally showed it to my wife she said "it looks just like your others" Well, not to me, but I can forgive her for that little mistake. She was really interested in the Spydercard. Go figure!

Don't forget to appreciate the Para's light weight and functional blade to handle ratio. It's my favorite folder. Congrats! :)

I have many Spydercos and Benchmades and the Para Military is my favorite knife of the entire crop. The size is just perfect for me and I like the G-10 handles and compression lock, blade size etc.

The only knifes I have that I favor over it are my Chris Reeves.

LOL, it gets better....

On Saturday we went to visit the kids. Someone said something silly like please cut the plastic wrappers off the mattresses on the bunk beds. So I take out the ParaMil, open it and gently slide it along the top of one of the plastic coverings, lenthways. I did not apply any pressure. It cut right through the plastic and the material covering the mattress, all the way

I knew I'd made a boo-boo but I couldn't help smiling :D And everyone else laughed with me too.

PS, i used a Native on the next one so as not to destroy it!

The only reason I no longer own a Para is because of the blade to handle ratio.:o
