I'm (not so patiently) waiting for a 556bk-1 to pop up on the exchange, and in the meantime I'm considering the scales.
I had a first production satin 556-1 and got rid of it because I didn't like the "first production" printed on the blade, wanted to hold out for a bk, and thought the handles lacked traction.
Has anybody modded their -1 handles to add a little more grip?
What'd you do? Sandpaper? Sandblast? Some other technique I never thought of?
If nobody's done it, does anyone have any thoughts on the best way to do it?
