So I bought an Atlas 30k burner and put it in my homemade forge.

I already had a burner tube that I was just using a bernz o matic torch I would just stick in the tube.

I cut the tube down and the Atlas burner slides in with not much clearance.
I'm not wanting to re due that tube on the side of the forge as it would be a pain.

My question is does this look like it is running OK...to rich? Lean?

Here is a picture of how it fits inside the old tube.

I thought maybe I could flute the old tube to let more air in if needed?

Also how far in the forge should the Atlas burner be?

Here is a short video of me just turning it on and cranking it all the way up.

Let me know your thoughts, thanks for the help!

The tight fit is OK.

It should slide in all the way to the forge chamber. The end of the burner is even with the refractory wall.

It was not I had some weld splatter that was holding it up about and 1" from the refractory wall in will file it off and give it another test run Stacy. Thanks for the reply!

Looks a hair lean, but you can't really tell until the chamber is fully warm. Unlike a side arm burner, mine ONLY work properly in a forge, and a heated forge at that. Give it 5 minutes at 50% and then take video, outdoors in calm wind.
