Sorry for some of these pix, cell phone cam and not the greatest light this morning.

Regardless, I wanted to add a pouch to my sheath in order to hold some items. I added grommets under the flap, then used paracord to hold it.

Looks good, and in a pinch you have some extra cordage to use.
Welcome to our little corner of the interwebs!!!!

Nice job! What kind of pouch is it?

Welcome to the Becker forum too :)

I knew someone would ask that! I threw the packaging/hanger away at the store I bought it from. I plan on going back there in the next week so I'll have to check the brand.

What is in the pouch?
Looks good and especially the fact that it is mounted on a BK2!

Sheath mounted pouches are a great accessory and add so much versatility especially for fire starting items.
Welcome to the community, there are good folks in here.

So far I've got the "Flint" and a P-38 type can opener. I plan on adding a 5/32 hex key and possibly a short sharpening rod.

We are going camping (car/campsite) soon and I hope to be able to show my kids how to start a fire w/out matches. We'll see how successful I am. My 9 year old (eldest) is super excited about the prospect of this.

Nice rig. Yeah, post the brand name of that pouch for us when you get it, please.

Welcome to Beckerdom

I added the grommets to the inside. It was rather difficult to get them in there. I thought my awl would make a big enough hole to just pop the one piece through there, but I was wrong.

i have been teaching my 4 and 5 yr old sons how to use a ferro rod. my 5yr old pretty much has it down. my 4yr old has the right technique but isnt quite strong.enough to get a spark every time. i would suggest.using.dryer lint to practice. takes a spark very easily. I also reccommend investing in quality ferro rods for the kids. its easier on a better rod. (light my fire or a gobspark) i have a few cheap chinese ones that i use but my boys have the light my fire scout 2.0-

I just started a bag to save our dryer lint.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Welcome to the madness. I think the BK2 sheath is very good but needs upgrades, and you did one of them. If you feel the belt loop strap is good leave it there but most people find it annoying when belt carrying as it moves to much, it's a heavy knife after all, and drawing might be tricky. A simple trick is to cut off the strap and replace it with a big tek-lok, the holes align perfectly. Another thing - making holes in nylon can be a pain, but you can get good results burning thru it with a cheap wood burner and a round tip that you can get at craft stores
