Went to william sonoma today, fondled a LOT of knives today, shun sure is an awesome knife manufacturer, stellar knives. I highly suggest you all go fondle at the minimum, and probably buy a knife for yourself or the cook in your family because they are simply phenomenal.

Nice and congrats on your acquisition! I have 4 in the Classic line and a paring knife in VG2 from the Kaji line. Love them.
 
the 4" is my first, and the 5.5" is the one from today. both from teh EDO line, which is sadly discontinued, but my wife loved the handle more than anything so we did it. solid vg10 really is awesome
