Just received a 628y Yello-Jaket. Box is kinda beat up, but knife and sheath are mint. This leaves the 712NS, 718 and 719 to find.
Does anyone have any pics of the 718 and 719? I have never saw these and don't know what they look like.

Congrats MW! Btw, when you say 712NS are you referring to the non-serrated version? I have the 712Y and love it, but the only 712 yellow handle, non-serrated I've seen, and have, doesn't carry the Yello-Jaket etch or label on it. So now I'm curious.

Oh yeah, good luck on getting the camera up or a scanned image as you know we want to see pics. ;)

Thanks..... The 712 Yello-Jaket, came in serrated and non serrated. I have the serrated, but want the non serrated as well, and both have the Yello-Jaket on the blade. If this works, here is the most hard to find of the series that I have. And batteries died in camera again.

Camillus made some excellent quality knives for many, many years. I still find it hard to fathom why their knives are so low on collector's lists of desirability. Yes, like every cutlery, they did make some knives for the low price market. But even they, that I have seen, are not of poor quality. More than one series rivals anything that Case ever produced, except maybe in the glitz and marketing aspect. I suppose, like every cutlery that is relegated to history in all but their marks (Levine said that cutlerys come and go, but famous marks live forever), marketing strategy fell behind the curve of the changing marketplace. With so many lines now discontinued, the time to acquire examples of your favorite patterns like the Yello-Jakets is now.

The Sears & Roebuck Fibron handled knives are also still out there in mint condition and quite reasonably priced, though Sears has discontinued selling knives almost entirely. They were made to high standards in fit and finish, in popular patterns, and make excellent additions to collections. I don't know about them as investments, but as being among the very last knives sold by Sears & Roebuck after over a hundred years in pocket cutlery (most of which Camillus had a part in producing), they definately do deserve and get my consideration.

That 712Y serrated is on my small list of knives that carry like they aren't there, but work like crazy. I love the option of having both the serrated and the non-serrated sheepsfoot blade in the same knife. A lot of versatility in cutting there.

I've noticed those double lockback YJs bring a pretty penny nowadays when you can find them.

Like the Case yellow handle series, the Camillus Yello-Jakets are examples of a good, solid knife at a good price. Originally that is in terms of the YJs and still at times for some of the models. I've picked up the 712Y serrated over the summer for around $9.50 for one and around $14.50 for the other. One with box (since traded) and one without. I'd still like to build a small stock of the 712YS to keep on hand just so I will always have one around.

Good luck on completing your collection. A fine and worthy endeavor.
