I am starting to like this knife a little bit now. It's funny how a small mod will do that.

Nice job. I think the uncoated finish looks sharp against the black. No pun intended.

With the serrations under it and the contrast between the black and bare steel finishes, it does stand out a bit.

I like it, the silver really highlights it. I just did some jimping work myself, tho only on a liner. What tools did you use?

I've always been a fan of satin spines on black blades, I have removed the coating and polished up the spines on a few of my black blade kershaw's, its a good look.

I want to do the liner also on this Rift. This was a late , one in the morning job and I'm ok with the results. It was..... do it late or do it with my two year old, my five year old and wife asking me to do something every 15 mins. I started with slow speed diamond coated bit in the Dremel. It also removed the black coating real easy. Then I cleaned it up with a sanding drum. Then refined it with 600 and 400. Sometimes little imperfections make stuff look cool. Why ? I have no clue. I guess it shows a human did it. Gives it character and plus I wanted it there. Hand done jimping is cool I think. I'm still new at knife work and hope to get better. To get acceptable results that people like makes me happy. Thanks for the compliments.

Nice work on blade spine jimping!

I have added to this post that I think Rift is suited for medium to large size hands. Also it is not "Urban" knife like 940, but not "Wildness" of 810.

After few rounding the edge of G10 handle, it works well with bear hands.

Also, I now want to have small cuts as frame jimping. (1/16 wide 1/32 depth edge rounded)

Very nice work. I envy your talent, I would have marked up the spine and would have ended up striping the blade.
Frank.
