The Mini is already a good knife but the one consistent gripe is the "plasticky" feel of the scales. Easy way to remedy this is some custom scales. This time around I chose the "Vintage worn Micarta" with a black Micarta cog-wheel backspacer. It really changes the looks and feel and makes it a great knife.

Those are really nice. The vintage micarta is stunning. Please PM me if you make these for sale.

Im guessing Cuscadi, from Germany.

Thanks for the pics, looks awesome! My Ritter grip is currently waiting on the "Rugged texture" G10, with Glowing cogwheel backspacer....cant wait!

I have some Cuscadi orange G-10 scales with a glow in the dark backspacer (not sure what kind, it looks more like a buzzsaw than the cogwheel) on my Ritter Mini-Grip. I picked it up in a trade, but it was a grail knife for me. I had a regular mini-grip before, and the Cuscadi scales are a MASSIVE improvement. I really didn't mind the plasticy feel too much, but the 3.5 finger size was very annoying. It was a little too big to three finger, but definitely too small to four finger grip it. That turned me off enough on the knife that I eventually traded it (not out of dislike, but I just couldn't go from liking it to loving it with that handle). Because the Cuscadi scales have such a similar profile, I didn't realize they are slightly bigger than the regular scales until I had it in hand. With the Cuscadi's, its now a perfect 4 finger grip. The orange scales and black blade go together really well too. It is by far my favorite knife, and I will never give it up.

I am at work atm, but I will upload some better picks of it later, but here are some crappy cell phone shots for now:

Yes, Luke will take care of you indeed. The fit & finish is spot on and the choices incredible. The cog-wheel backspacer makes outstanding jimping. I'm sort of burnt out on G10 so I've had these made and am trying to figure what I might do for a third. Wonder if I could get them to make some pretty paper Micarta...

Decided to strip the clip. The painted style doesn't last long anyway.

Those look fantastic! Canvas Micarta is quickly becoming my favorite...

If you don't mind me asking. How much did you get those scales for? You don't need to mention the dealer if it is against forum rules. I already know where to get them. Thanks!

Hope it's O.K. to mention prices.. 80 euros. Might seem high to some but people pay a good amount for different color G10 and with these you are getting an endless choice of not only color but material. It sill makes a grip a bit pricey but it's part of the hobby!

The Cuscadi grips are really nice. I have two Minigrips. They cost about $65 each, and I can't bring myself to spend $100 extra on them.
The stock plastic is actually functional, if not too pretty.

Yep, makes a pretty expensive grip but a great knife. What I do to recoup some of the cost is purchase a grip in yellow and immediately sell the mint/unused scales for $15 to someone bored with black. I've always sold them in 30 minutes or less.
