Added some scales to my favorite little fixed blade the CRK professional soldier

The CRK professonal soldier is my favorite fixed blade knife of all time. 3 inches is the perfect size for EDC and it is just an outstanding all around package. Chris and company really hit it out of the park with this little fixed blade in my opinion. I have been carrying this knife as an EDC along with a 3.5 in folder. I have fairly large hands and the skeletonized frame was a little small for heavy cutting tasks so I decided to take a shot at making some scales out of green canvas micarta. I also decided to stonewash the knife before I made the scales because the finish was starting to show a little wear from taking it in and out of the sheath and from EDC use. I had alot of fun with this and I think that it came out great. After adding the scales the factory sheath no longer worked so I sent it out to my buddy Julio from 710 custom sheaths. He hooked me up with this outstanding black boltaron EDC sheath with a spring clip. The sheath and clip are just unbelieveable in quality and function. The spring clip allows for belt carry, inside the waistline concealed carry (my favorite) , boot carry, and the traditional neck or pocket carry. I love this thing! It hasn't left my person since I got it back and I doubt that it will anytime soon. :) Check it out!!!

Quit looking at my butt. Focus on the knife.

Nice work Jensen!! it completely changes the look of the knife.. in a good way!! Thanks for the great pic's!!
All the best, Dave

Thank you Mike. I felt a little guilty altering it at first but I'm really digging it. :)

Very nice. I do not have a fixed blade yet but that looks like something I would like very much. Thanks for the pictures.

That looks awesome. I too love the PS. I have had mine for quite some time. Now that they came out with an insingo and tanto versions, the family may be expanding....!!!

Thanks fellas. :) I was really torn between the original version and the insingo. I just might end up getting both. The more I carry it the more I fall in love. What a perfect edc!!!

So Awesome Jensen, You've turned my least favourite CRK into something totally fantastic. Bravo!

Great work. I love how it turned out. Do you recall how much that strop was? I am looking for a strop and not sure quite where to look for a good one.

I think the PS is much better with scales and made far more useable. I like the look of the stone wash too. :)

I could never get into the PS, as much as I wanted it to it just wasn't happening. The blade shape is great but the 3 finger handle was just made even worse for me by a cord wrap and I didn't like the skeletonised handle much to start with. The thumb ramp being added to that was what broke the deal for me in the end though. A shame as that blade shape is one of my favorites and an all round great user. I would like to see a less "tactical" PS with no thumb ramp and some simple, blasted finish micarta scales. I would be all about a knife like that.

That looks incredible! I want to get a PS and do that myself. I am truly jealous of you. Great work!

That is not something I should post in this thread. I tried to pm and email you but your account does not allow that type of communication. If you email me i will gladly pass the information along to you. :)

I know this is a long shot, but is there any way you may be willing to make a set just like yours for me? I got the PS recently, actually looking for a skeletonized blade, but really don't like it as much as I was hoping to, and I don't have anywhere near the setup or knowledge to produce scales like that. Let me know either way. Thanks.

Hi! Jensen I'm really impressed by the way you customized your pro soldier. I really would like to buy from you a pair of scales like that! I'm interested in the sheat too!

I really like this forum!
Cheers from Italy!
