Posted this in the Arno forum but thought maybe others would find this interesting.
I love my iMamba, fit and finish is excellent, feel is excellent, steel is excellent (TBH can't really tell), size is excellent. But sometimes I don't want to fling open a knife. I really like the slow roll.
Got an idea of adding a thumbstud, I have not done this before and frankly I am fairly green when it comes to modding knives. But, what the hell.
I used a center drill for a spot, 1/8" thru hole, then a 4mm (.157) endmill for the finish hole. All solid carbide. Aftermarket BM Bugout thumb stud was used and it had a body fit of 4mm, wanted the fit snug.
Super pleased with how it turned out, it looks like it came this way originally. I played around with a Kwik thumb stud to try and find a good position then went after it. Feels great, slow roll or flick.
