Adding a Carbide Glass Breaker

I had been looking around at knives that feature some type of carbide bit built into the handle for breaking windows.

Then, I started toying with the idea of drilling a hole in the handle and adding a piece of carbide for this purpose.

Has anyone tried something similar? What size/shape carbide, how deep did you set it, what type of adhesive, etc....

The knife I'm considering this on is a Cold Steel Land/Sea Rescue, but the question could apply to any knife.

thanks

i dont see why it wouldnt work, i would use one of the carbide tips from micro -tec myself, or there is a guy on microholics.org who makes larger ones also.

lots of knives have the GBD (glass breaking device) and web cutters built in, SOG, MT, etc

It seems like these came out right after I bought mine. Rather than buy another, I was hoping to modify mine.
