Has anyone ever tried to add a pocket clip to a Leatherman WAVE?

I have access to tools, but unsure of the best place to add one. Any suggestions?

I wouldn't know where to begin.
I just got fellow formite and kydex sheather Normark to make a sheath for my SOG Powerlock.

Eric has made countless sheaths and other goodies for me. I have one for the WAVE, but there times that I need something OFF the belt. Just curious...thanks for the advice though.

The walls of the Wave are pretty thin on the outer edges. I think you would have a heck of a time tapping the thin steel.

If I were going to do it I would snap off the file and insert a piece of steel that fills the opening pretty well and then tap into it. This would give you a nice thick and solid piece of steel to tap into.

If you didn't want to snap the file off all together maybe you could just break off the last inch and put your steel in the void area - then it would be "tip up" ;)

If I absolutely didn't want to break off a tool I would buy a set of standard tamper resistant Torx drivers and take the tool apart to get the victim tool out.

Lastly, what about a William Henry style clip pouch made from a thin leather? I have done this for several small fixed blades and it works great!

great question, I have wondered the same thing. The wave would be perfect if it has a pocket clip...
