What exactly would I need to purchase to add a IWB clip to the Spyderco/Perrin sheath? Where do I find one? I really like the knife, but would like a clip instead of the belt fastner. I really need to know if a IWB clip is available before I order the Perrin. Thanks.

When I first got mine, I attached an IWB clip that I had from Concealed Carry Clothiers. That wasn't really made for the sheath, however, so it was a bit awkward. Then I tried using paracord to make an IWB loop. This worked great but required taking my belt on and off to put the knife on. Then someoene said they used ball-chain. I tried this briefly and it worked but I was afraid it wasn't secure enough.

I finally called Mike at River City Sheaths and asked to buy a real IWB pull the dot snap and a J-hook so I could decide which I liked better. He said that the holes in the Perrin factory sheath weren't big enough to accomodate his screws and posts. I decided to order one of Mike's sheaths for the Perrin and got it with the IWB pull the dot and a J-hook.

I've had it for a couple weeks now and really love it. I've been meaning to write up a review with some pics so maybe this is the kick in the butt I need. I'll get on that later.

I think cost was around $42 with extra hardware and shipping and wait time was about two weeks. I didn't have to send my Perrin to Mike because he was doing a batch of them.

I know it's extra cash but it's worth it in my mind.

If you don't mind taking off your belt to remove the sheath then a paracord loop will be just fine. Up to you.

Look for my extended review and pics in the near future.

I simply use a paracord or nylon loop. Works fine. I put it on the belt first thing, along with the leatherman. My knives always are in the same spot everyday. I don't even have to think.

BTW, my SD IWB knife is not a Perrin. I just wanted to say paracord
works for me.
