Adding a Tool Rest: How? Where? (pictures inside)

Hi everyone.
I got an old bench mounted engine set up and I managed to put a belt sander on it; now I would like to hear your opinion where the best place will be to add the tool rest and how, I want to make it rotate able (45 deg.). I will be very thankful if you also add some pictures, so I will get the idea, or edit/draw the enclosed pictures. Of course, if there is anything else you think I should do/change on this set up, I will glad to hear. Thank you all in advance – Michael.

I see that you can weld

Eventually I would use that stand and motor in a NWG or KMG clone project

Is there any way you can go to a 2"X10" wheel on the front? Then do as you already have and make up a removable bracket that is welded to the main table. Frank
