Hey all!!
Its been an incredibly long time since I have been around the forums, I have missed it so much. Work has been crazy, and I have been finding myself less and less active on forums. How is everyone? I missed you all.
Anyway, back on topic. I have been working a lot of random billets as of late, and I have been really learning what works for me in terms of my everyday knife. I have gone back to a modern one-hander for convenience purposes for most of the past 2 years, but always find the clip snags on everything. I have tried a few trads here and there (all of my favorites are back in the states still), but getting the right pattern down for me, and my current work, is exhausting. Sometimes, they slip out of my pocket, and I never see them again...I am scared to have my GEC's, sent to me for fear they will get lost.
So, I had a thought. I think I'm done for a while buying nice knives. What if I bought a few inexpensive trads and had them customized a bit? Has anyone added blades to a production trad before? With all of the large-gauge wire and mucky nonsense I cut daily, a reliable sodbuster that can be pinched to open with a small hawkbill secondary would be amazing. Would it be worth it to contact some dealers in the trad world to modify something like a Case Sodbuster and see if they can add a blade?
Thanks for reading guys and gals. It feels good to be back. I apologize if this is not the right place to ask this sort of thing, i can delete the thread. Take care everyone.
All best,
-Jim
