Hi folks,
Looking for suggestions on where I can get decent looking black (if possible) thumb studs for a Kabar Dozier. I've looked at KnifeKits, USA knife maker, Smoky Mtn KW, Texas Knife, Blade HQ, and TiConnector in Montana. (All I could find, but none had anything remotely decent even befitting a $20 knife). I even talked to Columbia River about replacement parts (info from another search) but for thumb studs they want a knife sent in, probably much like other manufacturers. There was a thread a while back on here where someone wanted to replace the studs on a Chris Reeve knife but that discussion didn't end with any answers. I'm looking to add dual studs to make it an ambidextrous knife, I don't need instructions on how to remove thumb studs as there is already a screw on the non-stud side. I don't want to use a Kwik-stud if I can avoid it because I'll be left with an empty hole. Anybody have any suggestions on a parts place I couldn't find? Maybe some of our custom guys? The parts have to be made somewhere... Thanks much!
