Adding extra tools to multitool

I love my Vic Spirit along with other SAKs. However, none of these tool has the ideal combination of what you like or need. Using a keyring is it reasonalbe to add "extras" to your favorite tool.

example: Add a photon LED light and a small drop point blade (SOG micron) on a keyring attached to the Vic Spirit.

The Spirit has an awkward key ring attachment point. I think it would be a bit cumbersome to have a bunch of stuff dangling from it, and it would be tough to get it into its pouch. One solution would be a quick release key ring. I love my Spirit and carry it most days but my other accessories (LED light, etc.) are on the ring with my car keys.

I've never done that, and I'd have to agree with Foilist that it would seem a little awkward to carry, but of course that would depend on how you carry it, and how tolerant you are of excess bulk.
Also, I know you said you love you Vic Spirit & SAK's, so this might not matter to you, but I think If you wanted to add things to a tool with a keyring, LM's Wave/Charge/Surge tools would work well because of the large, quick release ring.
Another idea would be to put a small clip or something that would make it easy to remove the extras when you need to use the tool.

I've also considered ditching the Spirit's original pouch and getting one just a little larger that can hold a couple of extra goodies. I have not found one I like so far.

A similar idea works well for me. My main EDC blade continues to be my Vic Rucksack. On most of my SAKs I do not have scissors. I usually prefer models using that layer for a different tool (like a saw). That being said, scissors can be useful, which is why I also carry a Vic Classic SD on my keyring with a Photon microlight. This gives me additional options and since they are not connected, if I lose one knife l'll hopefully still have the other.

+1 on the EDC combination of a normal size SAK without scissors with a Classic-size or slightly larger SAK with scissrs on a key ring with Photon or light of choice. On my keyring at the moment is a Wenger the same size as a SAK Rambler with a bottle opener/small screwdriver combo, plus a neat tiny screwdriver that fits most eyegasses screws. The SAK Rambler also has the bottle opener but with a very small Phillips screwdriver which is handy at times but a bit to large for eyeglass screws. For me the nod goes to the Wenger for the scissors design, just a personal preference.
