Gotta BATAC, and some other Busses I "might like" to put Penatrator Tips on. I don't want this bad enough to send the knives out, however. Any of you Busseholics out there done this yourselves? I've got a vise, and a Dremel. Any technique, and or advise, including, " if it ain't broke, don't fix it", would be appreciated. :thumbdn: Thanks

It would be easy with a belt sander, but the dremel may be a different story!

No more than what is ground for the penetrator tip it would be very easy to do with a file and then you dont have to worry about over heating the tip with the dremel.

Just my .02

Good luck and let us know what you decide!

I used the Lansky to put a penetrator tip on my (now gone) HHFSH; you put the knife in the Lansky vise the other way around, as if you wanted to sharpen the back of the knife. No heat generated, and it does a clean job.

Not really. Just considering. The file suggestion makes a lot of sense. Many thanks for all of your 2 cents. I love Blade Forum. Can always count on good advise from knowledgable, and great folks. Cut on! Many thanks.

Cutterman---Report back on your decision.
I am receiving a PD with a PT and I'm going to have it returned to a standard point. :)

Lycosa. You got it. I have a number of Busse's and Swamp Rats with the PP. I am now tending to keep em standard, but if change my mind you'll be the first to know.

i do mine with a extra course stone. works fine.

as to whether he needs one, it depends on what he's doing with it, but the tip on the BATAC is kind of fat
