What is the easiest way to add pics? I see the "insert image" button that asks for an http address, then I get lost. If I have pics on my desktop to add, how do I figure out their http address? Sorry, just a dweeb trying to figure this out. Posting is easy but pics seem to be another animal. I'm just used to adding pics to stuff by a different method. Thanks.

Your pictures need to be on a service that allows you to use the picture URL. The image URL needs to be placed between

Sorry, didn't understand a word of that. Does that mean i can't load pics off my own computer but need to subscribe to some outside site that I send my pics to???

Yes, people use different sites. The pictures must be accessible by everyone and your computer isn't. The site I use isn't that handy for this but it works. Hello out there, what service do you use??

Drover, when you look at the bottom of the empty message box, do you see a button marked "Go Advanced"? If so, click on it.

Below the text box, you should see "Additional Options" and a "Manage Attachments" button. If you can see that, click on it and it will let you browse the pictures on your computer. Pick the one you want to put in the tread and click on it and thyen click the "upload" button. You may have to resize your pictures to a smaller size (800 X 600 pixels).

I don't know what level of membership is required to do this, you may have to be a paying member. Try it and see. The pictures will show up in the thread as a thumbnail which will expand when it's clicked on. The picture below is on my computer and isn't coming from any other site.

What is the easiest way to add pics?

1. Open a free account at photobucket.com. They host your pics so you can share them easily.

2. Get your pics ready: I place the photos I want to upload to the host on my desktop so that they are easy for me to find. I edit the photos with software and size them to no larger than 800 x 800.

3. Go to your PB account and hit the upload button on photobucket, locate and click the photo you want to upload. Wait while the upload takes place, save within photobucket, move your cursor to the saved image on PB and click on the bottom part of the drop down menu. You now have the image copied and ready to paste into your post. Go to your forum post and paste it away from verbage.

4. It is Miller time. :D

I found out that in order to use the advanced feature "manage attachments" to add thumbnails direct from your own computer, you have to be a minimum of "basic member". That's the least expensive of the paying memberships.

Anyone can post pictures using Photobucket, etc.

Old thread......so old that some of the contributors are dead.

Old and wrong information........that will confuse people.

I'll flag it for a moderator.

If it helped you by accident, that's fine, but it could confuse others.

There are recent threads that give the current info.

And if you're going to post, why not a pic of your favorite BUCK knife?

:D
