I just got a Kershaw Ken Onion Shallot. It has a satin finish 410 Stainless Steel handle. It's very thin and too smooth for my taste. Can anyone advise me on adding wooden scales. Can I scuff the surface and glue right to it?

I did a little searching and it looks like the screws are 2 56 unc thread. Theyre sold on amazon in various lengths. I was thinking drilling the new scale and using slightly longer screws would be a better option. Not sure of the thread pattern of the pivot screw but google will tell you. When I do this in g10 I use double sided carpet tape to stick the new and old scales together for drilling and shaping.

That would be fine for the mark side, but the screws thread into the rear handle.

Youre correct. Assumed it was assembled like my Volt ss, however I found a pic where the guy used the pivot screw and the two pocket clip screws for the lock side. Tried to copy it but the image site isnt hosting it anymore. But you can see the thumbnail in this link https://www.google.com/search?q=ker...mages&tbm=isch&q=kershaw+shallot+wood&spell=1 Its the first one. Looked like if you counter sink the screws you could use the stock fasteners as well maybe
