I've seen pics of this and it looks like an improvement. Does anyone that has done it want to add pics and a little description of how they did it?

I've done this on a couple of my Para 3 knives.
I used a couple of cheap Chinese diamond needle files, 3mm in diameter, purchased on Amazon.

I removed the blue rubber grip material from the file, chucked it up in a cordless drill, set to low speed, put the blade in a vise, and went at it.
Worked like a charm.

In retrospect, I wish I had the confidence and knowledge, at that time, to simply sharpen all the way to the base of the plunge grind, which is what I do nowadays.

That does seem just as easy and you get all the edge. I wonder how bad super steels will wear out something like a venev diamond stone. I did recently retire my coarse diamond stone. Might have a win there.

For some comparison, the Para 3 in the picture above is K390, and I went through 2 of those diamond needle files, to get the sharpening choil as deep as it is.

I'm currently using an Atoma 140 grit diamond plated stone to set the plunges, and it works very well.
I've done 3 or 4 with it, and it's not showing any significant wear on the edges of the stone.

I did set the plunge on one of my PM2's with a phenolic resin bonded F80 Venev Centaur stone, before I had the Atoma 140.
It did a great job, and I took it slow, but the edge of the stone was rounded, just a bit, when I was finished.

Copy that. The last pm2 I sharpened was maxamet. That stuff sounds n feels hard af on the sharpener. I'd think they could do better at the factory. Not just a spyderco thing, but out of the five I have they are all raked out by the hilt on at least one side. I think about half have the same problem at the tip. All from golden. The amalgam I had was better. I can imagine the belt sander guy in the factories hates when an order of something like maxamet is going through. From my point of view I paid more so that bevel should have been perfect so I didn't have to spend so long fixing it. If I had faith it might have came back better I would have sent it to them for sharpening but I doubt I'd like it anymore.

One would think so.
I've only had two or three new Golden made Spyderco's that had somewhat consistent, even bevels.
My four or five Taichung made Spydercos all came with even bevels.

Hopefully, it's something the Golden factory will improve upon in the future.
But until then....
