Adding webbing?

For those who don't know, I use my CamelBak MULE for everything when I am in the woods. I drop and add pouches as needed to keep up with whatever activity I am doing at the moment. This leads to a problem: sometimes the load in unbalanced and, though it isn't terribly heavy, it gets annoying after a while. I don't want to buy a new pack, so I was wondering if it is possible to add some more webbing to the sides and possibly the top pocket. If so, just how much of a pain is it?

Thanks, Y'all!

It is not hard at all ...just get some heavy thread, a couple of harness needles, 1" inch nylon webbing in the color of your pack (or close) - all of this is available at Jo-Anns fabrics or even WalMart. You may need a pair of needle nose pliers to push the harness needle through if the pack material is really thick. Just use the existing webbing as a guide, for spacing etc... I put some "ad-hoc" webbing on a pack about 3 years ago - and it it still going strong - despite supporting the weight of fully loaded magazines, gps, medium pouches, etc...

Should be a easy project. Get the thread that says "button & carpet;" that's the sturdy stuff.

If you have one of those needle holders that is the flat plastic kind that rotates to get at various needle sizes that works well to push needles through by using the flat plastic as a thimble.

countycomm sells kevlar thread. i've used it for something similar and i can vouch it's toughness.
