I am making some carbon fiber scales for a Spyderco Copilot. What type of adhesive should be used to glue the scales on? Please Help!

I'll move this thread to the Shop Talk forum for you -- I'm sure some of the guys there have experience gluing carbon fiber scales. As far as I know they just use epoxy like with any other scales, but it won't hurt to ask the experts.

Why would you want to use glue? Lap sand the scales down to 400 or even 220 grit by placing sandpaper over a smooth even surfaco and rubbing the scales against this. Frank Niro

If you are going to use an adhesive, use some type of epoxy, devcon epoxy can be found at almost any hardware store, or walmart. make sure to clean both surfaces very well(wipe down with acetone to make sure all the oils from your skin are removed) before you glue everything up, also rough up both sides that are going to be attached. If you prepare the joint properly the epoxy should hold very well.
