adhesive resistant metals

what metals are highly adhesive resistant?

I ended up polishing the scissors and knife I have to use pretty highly and it didn't make a dent whatsoever. The scissors I had when bought new I would say had at best a hundred fifty grit grind on it, I took it to about 800 grit and it shined pretty nice but its still stuck pretty bad. I know there is no metal that can resist tar and adhesion but I am trying to find the one that can resist the longest.

this is more of a project I want to test, I want to make a new set of scissors from scratch and see how long they can last compared to factory scissors I use, also a hard coating wouldn't be out of the question, I tried titanium nitrate and that was a bust

Adhesive resistant metal? Not sure that what you are looking for exists without a polymerized coating such as teflon (PTFE)
At least I don't know of any metal that resists what adhesives are designed to do; stick

I believe it's possible to teflon coat with a spray (anodizers in my area support this) but I don't think it would be very long lasting thinking about how scissors work.

Thats what i was thinking. About any coating will wear fast, the ntride lasted but didnt work any better than steel itself.

Interesting. I cut open a lot of boxes and they are always sealed with tape. The combination of tape residue and cardboard "gunk" is always getting stuck on my blades, which I normally remove with alcohol or oil. I recently started using FrogLube and had hoped that coating the blade, and then wiping the blade after using it, would impregnate the oil into the metal and make it more adhesive resistant.

Unfortunately it only seemed to have an effect when it was freshly applied. Like within 24 hours or less. FrogLube on a rag removes the gunk pretty well, but no better than any other oil I've tried. Plus or minus.

The one thing I should have tried, but haven't yet, is to apply FrogLube with the metal parts heated up with a hair dryer. This is their recommended method and it's supposed to help the FL get into the pores of the metal. I should give it a try.

Brian.
