Never thought I'd say this, but I have to now face the facts. I know we joke about this a lot, but the damn temptation is much too strong and these knives are burning a hole in my pocket. To be honest, though I love this forum, it's not helping. This post is serving also as an acknowledgment to my weakness which in turn will be the first step in overcoming that weakness. Thus, I am going to wrap up a sale thread, letting it run through tomorrow and call this my last post. I am buying a house (saying goodbye to renting as well ;) ) and have decided to make all of my dining and living room furniture by hand, not the couches. That's why I want to quit the knife spending for a while and focus on bigger, long term goals. Yes I'll still buy on special occasions, Case shows, etc. and keep the hobby going, slowly going that is. It's time to limit myself.

I loved all the wisdom and knowledge that I have been given here by all my fellow knifeaholics, some of which I now call friends, and deeply thank you for that. I feel this is the appropriate place to write this seeing that I spend most of my time here and a traditional spends the most time in my pocket:thumbup:

Godspeed to all.
Keep 'em sharp and keep cuttin',

Mora

P.S. For the record. I am making this decision on my own accord and am not being influenced by any woman anti-knifenut.:p

Good luck with all you do. Feel free to come back and visit whenever the mood strikes.

Huh, so that's why you're selling off all those wonderful Case knives. Good luck on your journey, and don't forget to bring a towel.

"A man's got to know his limitations."

Vaya con Dios.

Come back and visit.

Gonna miss your posts.

Don't forget you always have a home here if'n you want it!

Good luck, and Gods speed for ya..

G.

Happy trails!! Home ownership is very expensive. I hope the best for you in your next adventure.

Thanks for the deal on the sodbuster. I like the yeller handles, now I know what all the hype is about Case yellow handles. You will be missed. Congratulations on the house!

I built my home 30 years ago and it was the best decision I ever
made and like you I had to sell a big portion of my gun collection
to do it and not have notes. But I have never regretted it.
So have a good one and let us hear from you every now an then

I do appreciate the deal on the Barlow.

Congratulations on owning your own place - it's a lot at first, but you get used to it after awhile. Definitely a good move for you. Can't rent forever, so you might as well buy. Best wishes in the new endeavor!

Best of luck to ya Mora. Glad to see your priorities are in order. Please stop in and show us some pics of your furniture as you complete it.

It can become a little overwhelming... They are just so damn much fun.
However, moderation is not a bad thing. I think it really helps enjoy it a little more, at least it did for me...

Good luck with the house. It is definetely a better investment, although not near as much fun :D

I'll miss seeing you around but I'm glad you have your priorities in order! Good luck with all your plans.

It is nice to see you bouncing back after your recent troubles. Good luck with your house and projects and come back with pictures once you get it all done.

Hey,

Giving up the knife spending might be good.

Just don't give up your friends here.

Good luck to you and do take care of your self. Maybe drop by once in a while and let us know how you are doing.
Jim

Give it a while, then come back with a rule. Learn as much as you can about the companies/makers/grinds etc. I'm trying to look before I leap these days, and my wallet is doing better for it.
