Adjusting the lock on a Maxx?

When I first got my CUDA Maxx Bowie the lock went almost all the way across the blade tang, but now it is actually touching the other scale. Is there any way to adjust the lock? I'm guessing this would involve adjusting either the "thumb stud" or the pivot, but I'm nervous about applying trial-and-error to something I know so little about. Could anyone with experience share it with me?

Bob I assume this is the dagger style blade you have? If so there seems to be a lot of people complaining about the same problem. I would have to think that the locks were maybe cut too short. You can try loosening and then rotating the bladestops/thumbstuds, but that will probably not make enough difference to move the lock. I would contact the dealer you got the knife from and/or contact Camillus. I'll betcha one of and most likely both will be eager to correct the problem.

Actually the one I'm having trouble with is the bowie version. It has been okay for a year of carry, but it just started making contact with the opposite frame. :(

I will experiment with the blade stop and see if that helps. If not, I'll see whether Camillus service can help me out with it.

Thanks for the advice!

There really is no user adjustment that will provide meaningful change in the lock engagement[assuming your pivot is reasonably tight]. We will happily take care of you knife for you. Just send it in to.....
