Here is my review of the Adler Canoe Axe. Its a well constructed and rugged axe equal in quality to Scandinavian axes such as my Gransfors small forest axe but at a fraction of the price. I highly recommend taking a look at the axes and tools made by Adler 👍

these german shaped axes and hatchets are my favourite allrounders although not tremendous splitters but effective everywhere else.

My experience with Adler is a mixed bag. The factory handles are thick, and while the samples I received from them a number of years back were excellent in terms of fit/finish, the first actual shipment of them I received had the sloppiest most inexcusable fit/finish I've ever seen on production axes, making me think they hand-picked the samples rather than them accurately representing the product. It certainly would explain how they managed to price their work as low as they did.

Thanks for the update, I didn’t know about that

Perhaps they've fixed the issue at this point, but I'd need some serious assurance from them before considering trying to carry them again. When they were good, they were a VERY strong value and I was super happy with them even if they needed a little extra tune up work to get them performing their best, but it was just a huge disappointment when the ones I received as an actual shipment had maybe one or two that didn't have serious issues. Nothing like heat treatment issues but just abysmal crooked hafting and big visible gaps in the eyes and whatnot.

You should definitely try contacting them. My experience is that thwy have excellent customer support

They didn't back then, but I believe it was their first attempt at doing business in the 'States. I does look as though they've put considerably more effort into their promotion work and English language customer support on this push, though, so that's promising.
