Admiral L-6

I just got some 1 1/2" wide "L-6" from Admiral. I'm going to forge a bowie from it tomorrow. Does anyone know what's in it? They list Crucibles chemistry as being what theirs is. I don't believe that for a minute. I've used them both and they act TOTALLY different. I noticed on one of the knives I made before from Admirals is that it makes a pretty visible hamon. I've also used it for damascus and it welded very easily and produced some very good contrast.
Anyone have any thoughts on this stuff?
