I e-mailed Admiral Steel and asked about their web site and asked if they were going out of business. This is the reply I received from Mike Averill: Yes we are still in business.

At this point we aren't sure when the on-line store will be back up.

In the meantime, you can either e-mail your orders or call our sales department at (800) 323-7055.

I liked their on-line store and hope they put it back up.

I may have pointed this out before but everytime I went to order online at Admiral I noticed that there was no secure connection indicator at the bottom of my screen. Consequently I always fax or call in my orders to Admiral anyway. If the online store front had a secure connection then it truly would be very convenient!

I never ordered online either , for the same reason, but I did like to be able to look through their website to find the dimensions of stock I wanted. Maybe they'll get it back on line soon. I need some 416 stainless.

Absolutely right, I'd pre-select what I wanted from the online store and use it to figure my prices and such and then call my order in.

I asked Terry Summers if they were going to put there site back online and he told me that they were thinking of only putting the currant prices of the popular steels.

Terry Summers is a great guy to work with,ask for him if he's not there leave a message on his machine,he calls right back.
