How many of you guys NEVER take your Sebenza all the way apart? I talked to someone this morning who told me that a drop of Militec in the joint was all he EVER did. It's worked out perfectly for him!

I have never even thought about taking mine apart. It is my EDC and gets used a lot, but washing it off, a drop of Tuf-Glide, and a wipe with a Tuf-Cloth seem to be working just fine.

Funny you should ask! I was just going to post about the joys of taking one apart. I jst broke the whole thing down and went thru my normal routine of assembly;

1. wash the handle slabs with soap and water, dry
2. wipe off the rear spacer
3. polish the tang area, screw heads, washers, stop pin and pivot bushing with Metal-Glo
4. put her back together using Tuff-Glide on the pivot assembly as needed
5. polish the blade with Metal-Glo
6. touch it up on my Sharpmaker
7. strop
8. admire my work

This is just another one of the reasons that I love these knives. I just get an added sense of satisfaction taking it apart, thoroughly cleaning it and putting it back together again. All of those nice, shiny parts add contrast to those old, marked-up handle slabs. Man, I love these knives! Try it and tell me that I am wrong

I'm with the Blademan, that is one of the main reasons I adopted this knife as my right hand tool. Taking it completely apart, cleaning, and putting all of the freshly cleaned parts back together to form a clean and well-oiled Sebenza makes me smile...and want to cut things!

Sebenzas are easy to take apart and put together (as far as folders go) and even an all-thumbs guy like me has done it when it got soaked by rain a couple of weeks back.

I've gotten more and more into the habit of carrying my Sebenza almost all the time. For some specialized jobs I will use another knife.

But I use the Sebenza a lot in the kitchen, and cutting up fruits and vegetables can really gunk up the works -- not enough to jam the blade up, but it gets sticky in there.

It is so easy to take apart, I don't hesitate now; it's only a few minutes, clean, White-Lightning, and it's back to snapping open too fast again ...

Why would you not want to take it apart. That's almost akin to a religious experience.
No, seriously though, that's one of the biggest advantages of the Sebenza as far as I'm concerned.
If I can do it easily, you know it's got to be easy.

Damn!

I guess a week just isn't long enough.

I am looking forward to the experience.

Hmmm...maybe if I made a few apple pies...
