I was wondering the same thing.

SPARK, I know you try to get by without advertising $$$ and wouldn't do this unless you need it for the site. I appreciate the fact that BF is AD FREE:D . Preston
 
If he sells the site someone jackass is going to put ads up anyway. Better he does it than some a-hole only out to make money.
 
I hate the f-ng ads!

That said, it's cool to see continuous improvements on BF and I guess this was bound to happen.

ps. please try a putting in a line break between Upgrade your forum experience line ... and the ads.

The lack of adds is one of the biggest draws to these forums for many people. If you have to do it to keep the forums alive then so be it... but please no huge banners or let Gold and above members have a choice to view the adds... let all the non paying basic guys get flooded with the adds :D
 
If I can figure out a way to let Gold members and such choose "ads free", I will.
 
That would be sweet.


What about using small pictures/icons instead of just words? Or everything in a slender/sleek banner.

I could care less if there are ads, just please no rollovers, pop-ups, flash ani's or java scripts. Thanks. :D :thumbup:
 
How does these ads work?

Does BF get a flat fee for showing them? If so, great--this is a staggeringly expensive site to run.

Is BF paid a little bit each time someone clicks on them? If so, let us know. I'll click a couple of times each day and let Spark print some money.

Edited: All right--I just checked into it, and it says right there... BF gets money everytime some clicks on one of those adds. I think everyone should make an effort to click a couple each day.

DO NOT CLICK ADS JUST FOR CLICKING. Google monitors for click fraud and will completely shut down our ad account if that happens. We get paid for impressions and click throughs but DO NOT CLICK if you are just trying to support us. You will cause problems in the long run.
