I’m considering buying an ADV knife directly from them, inasmuch as there are few options available from U.S. dealers. I like their designs, but am concerned about all the negative experiences and issues I’ve read about in the GBU forum. Is this old news, or should I still be concerned? Any advice would be much appreciated.

What do you like about them? I recall seeing some compelling theories that they don't actually make their own knives, but outsource and pass it off as their own. You might find something similar from the companies that actually make their knives; I know Rike makes some.
